Reclaiming Space
A visual study of advertising in public spaces.
Gallery

Project Overview
This dissertation explores how billboards shape our experience of public space and questions whether they can be reclaimed for cultural and community use instead of advertising. Combining theory with visual research, the project investigates the relationship between design, architecture, and the urban environment.
Challenge
The challenge was to communicate academic research through a visually engaging publication while documenting how advertising occupies everyday spaces across London.
My Role
I conducted the research, wrote the dissertation, photographed billboards across London, and designed the publication. The final installation presented the pages on a gallery wall, referencing both exhibition displays and the large-scale surfaces of urban billboards.
Deliverables
Dissertation publication
Primary and secondary research

Editorial design
